What compactor do I need?
When it comes to purchasing a compactor for personal or commercial use, it’s important to know which will serve you best. Here at OMC we stock a huge range of reliable Weber MT compactors and trench rammers that can handle just about anything you throw at them.
This is just a brief overview of what you can expect for most jobs, so feel free to contact us if you’re unsure or have any questions about what you need to get the job done.
Landscaping & minor asphalting
For most, if not all smaller jobs, opting for a single direction plate compactor will proved the solution you’re after.
Across the range, they’re available in engine sizes that run at 2.7 or 2.8 HP – the determining factor here being the size of the plate itself and the maneuverability you need. Available as an optional extra, water sprinkler systems can be added to these compactors for use over asphalt, gravel or sand for greater compaction.
For tighter spaces where you may not be able to turn a single direction compactor, reversible options are available in small and large options that come in a range of plate widths.
Trenching and road repairs
When you need more force to make channels and trenches for heavier groundworks, a trench rammer is the way to go. All three SRV models boast over 18kN of strike force, the only big difference being the SRV 660; which is heavier and compacts at a whopping 20.9kN.
Our largest trench rammer, The SRX 750 D is great if a heavyweight diesel option makes more sense for your business. For smaller packing or tamping jobs, the SRV 300 Tamper is a versatile option that can be used horizontally and vertically – it only weighs 32kg.
Commercial roadworks and landscaping
For gravel and asphalt compaction on large commercial projects, our range of reversible plate compactors are available in a number of sizes that cater to the size of the job at hand. Their design lets them move backwards and forwards with ease with consistent compaction.
