Technical Specs
MGMK10000-300: 10kVA Diesel Generator
There's no shortage of 10kVA generators on the market. Most are average. A few are good, and some are a cut above the rest. We would happily include the Trime MGMK unit in that class. A 1500rpm Japanese Kubota Diesel Engine, Italian Meccalte Alternator, 150 hour runtime on a single tank, all wrapped up in a galvanised ultra-silent canopy.
What actually makes a difference?
- Footprint: Most 10kVA units are wide and squat. This one's the opposite: 1100mm long, 790mm wide, but 1470mm tall. Narrow enough to fit on pads where space is tight (think islands, repeater huts, construction compounds), without giving up an inch of what's inside it.
- Tank: 300 litres. At 2L/h @ 75% load that's 150 hours between refuels. Less driving out to remote sites with jerry cans, less downtime, fewer VRM alerts when your batteries need charging.
- Engine + Alternator: 1500rpm, four-pole. The same spec as industrial generators that are designed to run 24/7 for weeks on end, while providing maisn quality power and remaining fuel efficient.
- Noise: 54 dBA @ 7m. Quiet enough to run next to a house, a hospital, or a marae and have nobody ask what that noise is.
- Victron approved: Tested and approved to run with Victron inverters and other top-tier European off-grid gear. If you're building a serious off-grid system, this one won't fight your inverter.
- HVO ready: Runs on HVO, standard diesel, or a blend of both.
- True cost of ownership: $1.41/hour ($0.147/kWh over a 15,000-hour lifespan) - This can chang with volatile fuel prices obviously.
Controller
Runs a DSE3110 digital controller. No complicated menu system with 100 options to fight with, just the simple protection you actually need:
- High engine temperature and low oil pressure shutdown
- Low fuel warning
- Volts, frequency, runtime, and battery voltage monitoring
- Autostart/2 wire start capability (Inverters, ATS, Remote Start)
Standard features
- Emergency stop button
- Central lifting eye
- Mains automatic battery charger
- 32A and 15A IP-rated outlet options
- 2/3-wire remote start compatibility
- Fully customisable to your application
Common Upgrades
- DSE7420 Controller - Brings RS485 and MODBUS TCP + Remote Monitoring Capabilities
- Custom faceplates for increased simplicity or ability to lock away important controls
- Alternator Anti-Condensation Heaters for severe coastal conditions
- NYALIC anti-corrosion marine coating - dramatically increases lifespan
Built for NZ conditions
Galvanised steel canopy, powder coated. Stainless steel hardware. Manufactured in Europe to EU quality and environmental standards, not assembled to a price point.
Where it's already working
Remote island off-grid systems, repeater stations, critical backup power, temporary buildings, construction sites, and home backup. If the site's remote, exposed, noise-sensitive, or just needs something that won't quit, this is what you put there.
